Image Stabilization
X Mount
By default, when an optical image stabilization (OIS) lens (abbreviated IS, OS or VC by various manufacturers) is used, in-body image stabilization (IBIS) of supported cameras is disabled.
Use Metabones App to enable the option "Manually choose between IBIS and OIS" to be able to choose between OIS and IBIS, as follows.
If the IS/OS/VC switch on the lens is at the ON position
- IBIS is turned OFF.
- The camera displays a crossed-out hand icon to indicate that IBIS has been turned OFF.
If the IS/OS/VC switch on the lens is at the OFF position
- Toggle IBIS on/off with the push button on the Speed Booster or Smart Adapter.
- The hand icon on the camera's LCD indicates IBIS status.
G Mount (GFX)
When an optical image stabilization (OIS) lens (abbreviated IS, OS or VC by various manufacturers) is used on a camera that supports in-body image stabilization (IBIS), you may choose to use either OIS or IBIS, but not both.
If the IS/OS/VC switch on the lens is at the ON position
- IBIS is turned OFF.
- The camera displays a crossed-out hand icon to indicate that IBIS has been turned OFF.
- On GFX 50s, pressing the push button on the Smart Expander or Smart Adapter toggles between P/S (programmed exposure/shutter priority) or A/M (aperture priority/manual exposure) modes.
If the IS/OS/VC switch on the lens is at the OFF position
- Toggle IBIS on/off with the push button on the Smart Expander or Smart Adapter.
- The hand icon on the camera's LCD indicates IBIS status.
