For existing customers without autofocus function, you may send your adapter back to us for an upgrade.
- Upgrade fees are nonrefundable.
- For FS700 and FS100, autofocus works only in photo mode but not in movie capture mode.
- Autofocus is not available for every EF-mount lens, but disabled for most third-party lenses and most Canon-brand lenses introduced before 2006. Please check compatibility on the product page for details.
- Autofocus is very slow and inadequate for most moving subjects.
- Continuous AF, DMF and some other features are unavailable.
Do I have a Mark I adapter or a Mark II?
You have a Mark I adapter if it has a rectangular opening in the middle; you have a Mark II adapter if it has a round opening.
For Mark I, adding autofocus requires a hardware upgrade, which includes a circuit board replacement, changing the rectangular opening in the middle to a round opening with extra anti-reflection measures, and strengthened leaf springs for the lens mount. You get every Mark II feature except Arca-Swiss-style quick release.
For Mark II, only a firmware update is required to add autofocus.
